Ban Sabai Thai Cooking School in Brisbane
| |
Description / diplomas: Raymund Venzin, from Switzerland, has traveled over forty times to Thailand! On these many travels within Asia he discovered the famous Thai cuisine, which unlike cuisine from his native Europe, was plentiful in both fresh produce and seafood.
After spending much time in Thailand at the many exciting cooking schools, and having been able to please so many of his friends with his culinary Thai delights, Raymund decided to share both his knowledge and passion of Thai food and Thailand, and established the Ban Sabai Thai Cooking School.
"It must be magic to be able to create such exciting and exotic food" Raymund hears many of his students say. To their surprise they soon discover that Thai cooking is in fact simpler in preparation to most Western cuisine. Once your herbs and spices have been collected, and your kitchen stocked with the necessary ingredients, such as fish and oyster sauce, palm sugar, and shrimp paste, it is easy to prepare a Thai lunch consisting of 4-5 dishes.
Courses are held at Hawkins Garden Centre, on the second Saturday of each month, as well as for small groups in the student’s own home at a time to suit, which are very popular as it enables the student to experience the art of “home cooking”.
During each lesson these four recipes are taught, plus basic skills in Thai cuisine preparation. The cost is $85 per person, all inclusive of ingredients, recipes, and a lovely four course meal to finish with.
