New England Culinary Institute in Montpelier
| |
Description / diplomas: New England Culinary Institute has been training chefs and food and beverage professionals since 1980. Our students learn in our restaurants and food service operations, under the supervision of our highly trained chefs. NECI’s small class size, averaging seven students to one instructor sets us apart from other culinary and food and beverage programs. Our programs are so well respected in the industry that the Council of Independent Restaurants of America (CIRA), a prestigious national organization of 450 independent restaurateurs has entered into a partnership with NECI. The CIRA board chose NECI over other culinary programs because “the New England Culinary Institute’s hands-on intensive training in working restaurants operated by the school, as well as in establishments participating in the NECI internship program, prepares students to enter the industry with all of the necessary skill sets in place to immediately be a productive and contributing member of the team.”We offer three degree programs, A.O.S. in Culinary Arts (enrolls four time per year), A.O.S. in Food and Beverage Management and B.A. in Food and Beverage Management and our graduates leave the program with 2 – 3 job offers. We also offer a 10-month certificate program.
