Description / diplomas: Leiths School of Food and Wine was established in 1975 to provide professional training for career cooks and short courses for amateurs. The School provides comprehensive theoretical and practical teaching, either qualifying students to enter the food and wine business and begin a rewarding career, or simply to instil a lasting love of food and wine. There is commitment to classical techniques and methods, but with a fresh and modern approach.
Professional courses range from the Diploma, completed in six or nine months, to the one month Basic Certificate in Practical Cookery, particularly suitable for Gap Year students and school leavers, many of whom work in chalets or shooting lodges.
For the enthusiastic amateur we offer daytime courses ranging from a Saturday morning demonstration to a one month advanced course. We have evening classes in both practical cookery and wine appreciation and classes for corporate hospitality groups. Gift vouchers are available.
