For everybody who are interested to know the cookery art of Tuscany we offer the possibility to learn to cook traditional and typical tuscany dishes of Val di Chiana and Senese area, the knowledge of mediterranean diet in order to have a better life and to live in harmony with yourself; in the kitchen of a VIII century villa we organize specific cooking class, carefully selected on what you prefer about some kind of menu of our chef.

The lesson takes about 4 hours for a miminum of 4 persons and maximum 8/10 persons. At the end of the lesson you can eat what you have cooked in a private room, as it was in the ancient tuscany custom, eating and talking around the table.

- We organize wine tasting with tuscany and italian wines, and we also offer the possibility to tast the best quality of typical and regional products; some of these are maked with a biological agriculture.

- Considering that we produce extra-virgin olive oil, “Terre di Siena” DOP certificate, we organize oil tasting (panel-test) with different kind of oil.

- In order to have an agreeable free time we suggest you some excursions in the closier and famous towns like Siena, San Gimignano, Montalcino, Pienza, Montepulciano, Abbazia di Monteoliveto Maggiore, Firenze and so on.

- We are in heart of Tuscany and in the centre of the most important area for the production of wine (Brunello di Montalcino, Nobile di Montepulciano e Chianti Classico) and you also can have wine tour in the famous cellars nearby.

- During the olives harvesting you can visit oil mills with olive oil tasting.

- On request we can arrange particular dinner with appropriate wine for each dish.

Dante Alighieri - Siena Committee see Italian cuisine as an essential part of our nation's culture and so think it is important to give people from other countries the opportunity to study our cuisine as well as our language and culture in order to get a real taste of la Dolce Vita!
The courses take place in a large newly furnished and fully equipped kitchen in the centre of Siena and can be taken for two weeks - for those who can only stay for a short while - or four weeks - for professionals and real enthusiasts. We are also running a special Christmas course of one week for amateurs. The courses each have a different theme, to include special seasonal recipes as well as traditional Italian and especially Tuscan cookery, recipes from the Middle Ages and modern cookery. The lessons take place in the mornings and develop from the study of ingredients, through step by step "hands on" cookery lessons, concluding in lunch in a frescoed dining room at which students consume the dishes they have prepared. All students on the cookery courses can take part in the social activities organised by the Centre. As the cookery lessons are held in the morning, students will be free to study the Italian language in the afternoon if they so wish. Courses for private groups and special tailor made programmes can be arranged on request.

She has a special gift for cooking and will show you how to create many wonderful pasta, including her own special recipes. Ingredients used include veal, fish, chicken and seasonal vegetables, while dishes demonstrated include pizzas, cakes, traditional marmalade and conserves. You will learn the secrets of traditional Italian Cuisine in a relaxing, friendly and warm atmosphere.

Every day at the end of the lesson you will be able to taste the various recipes and enjoy some of the best local wine, while sitting on a breathtaking terrace overlooking the Mediterranean sea.

At the end of the course you will be able to cook wonderful Italian meals for yourself, your family, friends, partners etc.; organise Italian evening; or just follow a natural Mediterranean diet which is known to be one of the healthiest in the world.

Briefly, the school consists of 10 days/9 nights with 7 mornings (or afternoons) of hands on cooking classes instructed by our Resident Chef and some dates with Umberto Menghi or other regional chef’s in our Professional Cooking School. Each afternoon the group explores a different part of the Chianti region.
