Job description Casino Careers Online has a client seeking a candidate for a Catering Event Planner position.

The position description is as follows:

The Catering Event Planner ensures smooth and efficient operation of event planning for the Catering department.

Responsibilities include but not limited to sell, detail and coordinate events for external and internal clients of

companyContribute to the overall positive experience of each catering event.

The Catering Event Planner:

* *Plans and coordinate events including selling the appropriate venue, food, alcohol, audio visual and décore for all events within the budgetary guidelines provided by the client.
* Has the ability to sell property to external clients to meet monthly and quarterly sales goals.
* Quickly and professionally responds to client changes and requests.
* *Attends events booked to ensure client?s needs and expectations are met and exceeded.
* Is responsible for ensuring professionalism in verbal and written communications with internal and external guests.
* Ensures orders have been processed correctly.
* Is held accountable for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records (daily, weekly and monthly) and reports and for maintaining an exceptional level of guest service and satisfaction.
* Updates and distributes a calendar of catering events and casino wide events as needed.
* Is responsible for assisting with various projects as directed by the Catering Manager.
* Is responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.
Contract conditions and benefits
  • Salary Range: DOE
Required education and work experience
  • * High school diploma or equivalency required.
  • * College degree in related subject preferred.
  • * Minimum of two (2) years of catering sales or event planner experience at hotel, country club, casino or stand alone venue.
  • * Must possess excellent telephone skills and be personable.
  • * Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money.
  • * Must possess excellent typing, communication and organizational skills.
  • * Must possess strong computer skills in Excel, and MS Word; Publisher experience is preferable but not required.
  • * Basic knowledge and understanding of typical office equipment is required.
  • * Ability to exercise initiative and discretion.
  • * Ability to maintain a positive attitude towards staff and guests.
  • * Promote and participate in a team environment.
  • * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision required.
  • * Ability to prioritize tasks and multitask effectively and efficiently.
