Job description Casino Careers Online has a client seeking a candidate for a Sous Chef position.

The position description is as follows:

The incumbent in this position is responsible for developing an environment that creates excitement for guests and employees, promoting and retaining a highly skilled work force. The incumbent is also responsible for overseeing food preparation on all shifts for an assigned food outlet to ensure quality food and guest satisfaction. Coordinates with front-of-the-house staff to ensure effective coordination of service in order to achieve company food service goals.

Required education and work experience
  • -Ability to use all tools associated with the position including but not limited to knives, slicers and choppers.
  • -This position is subject to varying noise levels, extreme heat and cold; proper clothing is provided.
  • -Ability to review and comprehend recipes and other necessary documentation.
  • -Ability to inspect quality of all food items.
  • -Ability to observe and direct actions of subordinates, monitor all activity within the room, and to inspect and maintain areas for which responsible.
  • -Ability to move effectively and efficiently throughout work areas. Knowledge of and ability to prepare stocks, soups, mother sauces, all varieties of meat including veal, pork, beef, lamb, poultry, game and seafood.
  • -Complete understanding of kitchen operations.
  • -Must have own tools.
  • -Demonstrated organizational skills, budgeting experience and full understanding of financials.
  • -Previous supervisory experience.
  • -These skills are typically acquired through a minimum of eight years progressive food preparation experience, or through the completion of a culinary arts degree or accredited apprenticeship and four years of progressive food preparation experience with at least one year in a supervisory capacity.
