DArcys Kitchen is a very popular, casual, European-style restaurant cum coffee shop, with two branches located in prestigious areas of Muscat, Oman. In 2006 and 2009 Darcys was voted the best cafι in Oman coming ahead of many international chains.
Our customers are comprised of approximately 50% Omanis and other Arabs, and 50% westerners who reside and work in the country. During the winter months our customer base doubles because of the large amount of tourists who frequent our establishments.

| Job description |
Manages the performance of kitchens in both of the existing outlets, one with 140 covers, and the other with 120. Works in cooperation with the Operations Manager and reports directly to the owner.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Purchasing and Inventory
Sets appropriate purchasing specifications
Purchases food and supplies and ensures items are available on a timely basis
Obtains fair pricing by using the bidding process
Completes all purchasing and inventory records within guidelines
Maintains inventory controls
Food Production and Presentation
Accurately forecasts food production needs
Develops quality standards for food quality and presentation
Completes all food production records within guidelines
Coordinates activities of cooks and other kitchen personnel engaged in preparing and cooking foods
Prepares food as needed
Develops and standardizes production recipes to ensure consistent quality
Checks food quality, presentation, and portion control before meals
Ensures maintenance of cooking equipment
Financial
Manages/controls food costs
Prepare budgets in consultation with General Manager/Owner
Menu Planning:
Develops menus and revises twice annually
Develops catering menu and customizes menu as necessary
Sanitation
Maintains a sanitary and safe kitchen/storage environment for all employees
Implements HACCP plan
Supervision/Human Resources
Supervises and motivates cooking staff
Train cooking staff
Evaluates employee performance
Leadership
Serves as a role model for employees through teamwork support, attention to detail, quality control, and interactions with guests and team members
Ensures guest satisfaction
Ensures that employees receive fair and consistent treatment and opportunity to advance

- Package: Negotiable salary plus benefits including:
- Fully furnished one bedroom apartment, as well as utilities (electricity & water).
- Company car: petrol, insurance, & maintenance paid by the company.

| Required education and work experience |
- Must have been formally educated as a chef. Should have good knowledge of British & European cuisine.
