Job description Casino Careers Online has a client seeking a candidate for a Baker position.

The position description is as follows:

Job Summary: To produce from scratch, frozen, or mix, accurate amounts of products that are of the highest quality. This involves the areas of production, safety, maintenance and sanitation. Must be able to follow recipe and product specification.

Employee Reports To: Pastry Chef or designee

Specific Duties Performed:

-Responsible for baking of products as determined by the Lead Baker, which are served in any of the casino restaurant venues.
-Maintains the highest standards of quality and appearance for all bakery items prepared and served.
-Follows all quality control and portion programs.
-Responsible for cleanliness and organization of all bakery production areas at all times.
-Responsible for the inventory of all bakery production items necessary for station set-up, and accurate completion of production charts or amounts of items produced.
-Ensures proper food handling of all food products.
-Utilizes forms and controls to include production lists, wastage sheets, transfers to restaurant venues, product requisition, recipes, and manuals.
-Coordinates acquisitions of all food products with the Lead Baker.
-Follows “clean as you work” and accident prevention policies at all times.
-Attends all kitchen staff meetings as required.
-Assists other employees as necessary or required.
-Promotes positive working relationships and communication with all Casino team members.
-Performs all other duties deemed necessary or requested.
Contract conditions and benefits
  • Pay Rate: $12.72, applicant selected may be offered a rate higher than the base pay depending upon qualifications.
Required education and work experience
  • EDUCATION:
  • -High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • *If applicant does not meet education requirement, employer will allow 6 months from date of hire to obtain this job requirement as a condition of employment.
  • SKILLS:
  • -Must be able to perform basic math skills. (Test required)
  • -Ability to maintain healthy and efficient work habits.
  • -Must have technical knowledge and skill in the scratch production of: breads and rolls, breakfast pastries, cookies, cakes,
  • dough, fillings, and pies. Chocolate work, gum paste, candies, plate presentation, and finer pastry work optional but preferred.
  • -Must be able to operate in a team work environment with a high level of enthusiasm, cooperation, and positive outlook.
  • -Must have working knowledge in setting and maintaining par levels with inventory.
  • EXPERIENCE:
  • -Minimum of at least two (2) years work experience as a Scratch Baker, Pastry Cook, or similar level of baking in a shop of two or more Bakers.
  • -Prior work experience baking for banquets of at least 50 people preferred.
  • OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • -Must be 18 years of age or older.* (Attach copy of document with application)
  • -Ability to successfully pass an agility exam determining if physically capable of performing job functions.
  • -Must obtain and hold a Food Handler’s card within 60 days from date of hire.
  • -Must be able to obtain a SERVSAFE certification within 60 days if hire.
  • -Will be responsible for the deliverance of the highest level of customer service to guests, VIP's, and co-workers.
  • -Must attend mandatory guest service training.
  • -Must be able to work any shift assigned to include days, swing, grave, weekends and/or holidays.
  • -Must be able to obtain a Class II certification, and be licensed, with the Tribal Gaming Agency.
  • -Must have a successful employment history with the Tribes and/or other employers
